Hermon Maclin

Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development

Education and Degrees

Hermon received his B.S. Degree in Agricultural Business from Virginia State University and a Master of Science Degree in Education from Virginia Tech.

Work Experience

Hermon has an abundance of experience working with youth. He was actively involved in 4-H as a youth participating in county, state, and national 4-H programs. He began his Extension career in the 1970's with Southampton VCE as an Extension Aide followed by positions with Petersburg VCE as Gardening Technician and 4-H Program Coordinator. He also has over 10 years of experience with Petersburg Public Schools and the Petersburg Recreation Department. He was a recording artist with Elektra Records and his group had a world-wide hit record! Hermon returned to Extension in 2001 as the 4-H Extension Agent in Sussex County and has been with Prince George Extension since 2003.
